Hévíz, the best known Hungarian spa resort and medicinal bath is located within a mere 6 kms from the North-Western tip of Lake Balaton. The therapeutic effects of the Hévíz thermal water were known and used as early as in the Roman times.

The unique thermal lake, fed by several underwater springs has a surface area of 4,7 hectares. In summer the temperature of the water is 33-34 ^oC, but even in winter it does not fall under 26 ^oC, allowing those seeking recreation or treatment to enjoy the beneficial effects of the world famous spa set in a wonderful natural surroundings in all seasons.
